Places of Negotiations, Installations in the ambient
Irena Kelečević

Irena Kelečević Respecting the rich history and diversity of location of the entire Kalemegdan, as the main actor of happenings has imposed itself a "walker", as an individual and as a link between architecture and history, past and present.

The installation set on the terraces of the "Zindan Gate" consists of three objects (an armchair, a two-seater settee and an ottoman), each on one of the terraces. The objects are reserved for contemplation, taking a break, socializing. Accentuation of a specific place requires transferring the walker’s attention to the place that has been perceived in one way up to now and which, with a small intervention, offered the idea for new methods of usage and perceiving.

There is great importance in energy that the walker uses for getting aware of the familiar place, of accepting it as an artistic intervention and, eventually, becoming a part of the set design himself/herself, by looking for the place and by defining it.

he seats are made of material appropriate for the place (stones) without disrupting or damaging them
