Irena Kelečević, "Omnia mea mecum porto" , 2002.

Irena Kelečević, "Omnia mea mecum porto"The work "Sve svoje sobom nosim" of "Omnia mea mecum porto" is in fact a photo document of an object realized within the scope of artistic visual art colony in Kalenić (2002), which had the problem of migrations as a theme. Suitcase made of mirrors, as a migrational metaphor deals not only with migrations or demografic problems, but also with the position of the so-called "nomad" artist who changes his/her environments and is therefore forced to react on those newly-arisen situations, which he/she has to adapt his/her work to.

Irena Kelečević

Born in 1975, in Croatia. Lives and works in Belgrade. She graduated in 2006 from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade. From 1999 to 2004 she was receiving a scholarship from the Republic’s Foundation for the Development of Scientific and Artistic Youth, and in 2000 she also received a scholarship from the Republic of Norway. In her work, she deals with the problems of space, limits of its (un)changeability, to be more precise, exploring of the relation between what defines it in terms of architecture or basic conception and different opinions and experiences connected with it. Recent independent and group exhibitions include: "Free Space", Remont Gallery (2007), and "Spaces of different opinions", Gallery "Zvono" ("Bell" Gallery) (2006), "Chronotopes", 9th Bienal de Cuenca, Ecuador (2007), "Logično" (Logical) Belgrade Summer Festival (2003) and "Pozitiv/Negativ" (Positive/Negative), 44th October Salon.
