STANICA - Service for Contemporary Dance

Stanica (Station) is the first and only organization founded by all actors of the contemporary dance scene, for the purpose of empowering the contemporary dance scene in Serbia, structuring it and making it visible and recognizable at the local and international levels. The aim of the Station is to draw attention of local cultural institutions at the city and Republic levels and, in cooperation with these authorities, to enable a continuous support to the contemporary dance scene. The Station serves as a communication and information service, which distributes all relevant information at the local, regional and international levels. By achieving close cooperation with similar organizations and structures from the region and abroad through networking, the Station is following all important contemporary dance flows and adjusting and improving its programmes. The Station is especially focused on intermedia projects through which, in a creative and educative manner, dancers and choreographers will be linked to artists from the field of new media, electronic music etc.

At BELEF 07, the Station is presenting itself, in cooperation with Gallery 12+, with an interactive performance CROSSART – "(up/down) load". The performance is realized through a simultaneous "creative" work of dancers, a DJ and a manipulator of computer technology. It results in diverse visual-music depictions in movement and their graphic bi-dimensional projection on the wall of the "gallery" and in print.
