In the context of drawing the BELEF form closer to similar contemporary international events, the segment of education was introduced into the programme offer this year. However, that was not the only reason. Continuous education, lectures such as transferring information on individual work of successful individuals or on general movements in the contemporary culture, will always be a social need, and not only in environments like ours. Young people, who are the main target group of the Festival this year, do not often have the opportunity to directly meet experienced professionals; even less often have they a chance to work together with them on realization of a concrete work of art.
The educational segment of this year’s BELEF unfolds at three levels.
The first one, fully opened to the public, consists of 5 lectures by domestic and foreign artists, theoreticians and curators (Raša Todosijević, Jovana Stokić, Nebojša Milikić, Camilla Larsson, François Piron). The other two segments consist of workshops intended for young attendants who have elementary experience.
In the scope of the programme called Master Class, well-known and recognized professionals transfer their knowledge and together with the participants work on realization of the final work of art, prepared in the pdf form for a number of specialized websites, newspapers, installations or mini films. Mentors are Jovan Čekić, Stevan Vuković, Miroslav Miša Savić and Dušan Makavejev , masters of their profession.
Special workshops are dedicated to even younger generation. GRAFFIT ART under the guidance of the artist Aleksandar Jestorović, assisted by experienced graffiteers (Biska, Dulemojimilimoji, Lortek) who transfer practical experience acquired on the streets and walls of our city, result in painting a concrete façade in Belgrade. NEW TEXT ORDER taken care of by Aleksandar Belćević, deals with relocation of syntax sequences/ orders found mainly in the field of so-called mass media/ public speech, into different contexts and meanings of the environment. However, the texts as such, as well as interventions, eventually get the form of installation in which the audience takes part, directly and indirectly.
In the entire BELEF programme of this year education has an important place. Combination of experience and freshness of youth certainly brings new energy in favour of the theses that in the dilemma there or here prevails here. |
