Formed in the aftermath of World War 2, in 1949, the Chinese Radio Orchestra has been tenaciously exploring ever since authentic roots of Chinese traditional music, recovering from oblivion old instruments, styles of playing and ancient musical expressions. At the same time, this orchestra has been developing its zest for the classical European orchestra repertoire, hence it has included selected pieces like Mozart’s Serenade in G Major, Bizet’s Carmen Suite and others. This time the Chinese Radio Orchestra will present its standard domestic folklore repertoire. Will the Chinese Radio Orchestra touch on our own musical heritage at its Belgrade concert? Belgrade audience in the Sava Centar Garden will surely let out a gasp of surprise if this indeed comes to pass.
