Brankica Končarević

Brankica Koncarevic was born in 1974 in Ridjica. She graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade. She continued her studies in Kunsthochschule Berlin. Exhibited in country and abroad.

Installation A Dress

The focus of her work is a designed dress. Like any other dress this one is also in a situation of a self introspection and constant denial and suppression. From the outside, it is a sanctuary, a status symbol and a protection suit; it has been made only for me and I am at my bests only when I am wearing it. The dress hides and at the same time shows the sickness and the sorrow, touching the body and preserving its shape; the dress protects and exhibits the open body to the sights of others.
