Video installation Never gonna give you up
Since the spirit is willing, but the body is weak ...
The installation is placed in the window of
the Todor shop in the Knez Mihajlova street. The window is being
cleared from the consumers items for the occasion and is turned
into a small room. The video is being projected on the bed with
pillows placed on both ends of the bed, the mattress is covered
with the cotton wool. The video clip shows two upper halves of
the body of the naked man shot from the birds eye perspective,
edited in the way that they meet each other at the middle of the
bed. At the first glance it looks as if it is an image and its
reflection in the mirror, only to turn out that those are halves
of the same origin, trying to get rid of one another in vain.
Above the bed there is a LED news display strip with words crawling
fastly featuring the lyrics of Rick Astley’s hit:
... never gonna give you up
never gonna say goodbye
never gonna run around
and desert you ...
