Ante Grgin (1945), srednju muzicku školu
završio je u Splitu, Muzicku akademiju u Beogradu 1969, u cuvenoj klasi
profesora Brun Bruna, a zatim i poslediplomske studije 1972. Još za vreme
studija postiže zapažene rezultate na prestižnim internacionalnim konkursima
u Ženevi, Minhenu i Pragu, kao i na Medunarodnom takmicenju ''Jeuness
Musical'' u Beogradu 1970, kada osvaja drugu nagradu.
Skoro tri i po decenije Ante Grgin deluje u našoj muzickoj javnosti kao
istaknuti koncertant, kamerni muzicar, solo i prvi klarinetista Beogradske
filharmonije. Nastupao je sa mnogim orkestrima u zemlji i inostranstvu
(Francuska, Švajcarska, Italija, Madarska, Cehoslovacka, Rusija, Belorusija,
Kina...), a kao solista i kamerni muzicar gostovao je na fetivalima poput
BEMUS-a, Mokranjcevih dana, Mermernih zvuka.....Clan je ansambla za Novu
muziku.
Grgin je takodje i kompozitor brojnih dela posvecenih klaviru, violini,
violi, flauti, klarinetu, oboi, fagotu, trubi, horni.... Njegova dela
karakterišu: sklonost prema slobodnoj formi, prisustvo stilskih obrazaca
simfoniziranog džeza, evergrin harmonija, folklorne ritmike balkanskog
tla i naglašena melodioznost kao sastavni deo prirode instrumenta kojem
je Grgin posvetio izvodaštvo i stvaralaštvo. Medu brojnim izvodacima njegovih
kompozicija nalaze se i svetska imena poput Irene Grafenauer i Mata Bekavca.
Grgin je redovni profesor na predmetu klarinet na Fakultetu muzicke umetnosti
u Beogradu. Dobitnik je brojnih priznanja, od kojih se izdvajaju nagrada
Dositej Obradovc, Spomen plaketa grada Beograda, Zahvalnica FMU, Zlatna
medalja Beogradske filharmonije povodom 75. godina rada ove institucije,
Srebrna medalja Univerziteta umetnosti, kao i nagrada UMUS-a.

Ante Grgin (1945), he finished music high
school in Split. In 1969 he graduated from the Music Academy in Belgrade
under the tutelage of Prof Brun Bruno and finished postgraduate studies
in 1972.
As a student he had remarkable achievments at various prestigious international
open competitions in Geneve, Munich and Prague as well as the Second Prize
at the International Competition "Jeunesse Musical" in Belgrade
(1970). For three decades Ante Grgin has been working as a distinguished
concert performer, a chamber musician, a soloist and the first clarinetist
in the Belgrade Philharmonics. He has performed with various orchestras
in the country and abroad (France, Switzerland, Italy, Hungary, Czechoslovakia,
Russia, Belorusia, China etc.) and as a soloist and chamber musician at
various festivals, such as: BEMUS, The Days in Honour of Mokranjac, Marble
Sounds... He is a member of the New Music Ensemble.
Grgin has also composed a number of pieces for piano, violin, viola, flute,
clarinet, oboe, basson, trumpet, horn. His compositions are characterized
by: tendency towards free forms, style models of jazzed symphony, evergreen
harmonies, Balkan folklore rythms and highly emphasized melodic as a part
of instrument nature to which Grgin has dedicated his performing and creative
work. Numerous artists who have performed his compositions includes world-renowned
names, such as: Irene Grafenauer and Mate Bekavac.
Grgin is a full-time professor teaching the clarinet at the Faculty of
Music Art in Belgrade. He got a number of prominent awards, such as: "Dositej
Obradovic" Award, The Recognition Medallion of the City of Belgrade,
The Letter of Thanks of the Faculty of Music Art, Golden Medallion of
the Belgrade Philharmonics on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of
this institution, Silver Medallion of the University of Arts as well as
the Association of Music Artists of Serbia Award.
