CARLO HÖMMEL, orgulje (Luxembourg)
koncert

concert

Carlo Hommel (1953) is one of the most respected organists. At the age of twelve he became an organist in his home village Bissen (Germany).
He studied under the tutelage of Prof Hubert Schoonbroodt at the Royal Conservatory in Luettich, where he was an assistant later. He was an organist in Ettelbrueck and a "co-titulaire" in Clef Benedictine Abbey. He has been a titular organist of Our Lady's Cathedral in Luxembourg since 1987. Both great instruments of this cathedral (the symphony organ "George Haupt" from 1938 and the classic organ "George Westenfelder" from 1995) enable him to foster an ample repertoire.
He has performed internationally as an organist, a harpsichord musician, and a soloist with various orchestras as well as a chamber musician. He teaches at the Conservatory in Esch and the Conservatory "du Nord". At Summer Academy of Steinfeld Cloister he is a founding member of "Amis de L'Orgue (Luxembourg) as well as a member of the "Grand Ducal" Institute. He conducts "Madrigal de Luxembourg" Orchestra. He uses Gregorian Choral to a great extent in his lectures and practice.
